What's New?   March 2009 - Shoulder surgery went well, and I made a complete recovery.  Thanks for all your kind messages and support.  Thanks especially to Kevin and Becky for taking good care of me while I was recovering.     November 2008 - I have published three children's books in English for English immersion preschools.  One is a Halloween book and the other is a Christmas book.  They will both be available via Amazon.com or other online bookstores later, but for now, you can order from my publisher.  http://stores.lulu.com/jeanaschieffer   July 2008  - Our dear mother, Phyllis, passed away in Rice Lake this month.  She would have turned 84 in August.  It is hard to say good-bye, but at the same time it is a relief that she is out of pain.  She has been in and out of the hospital a lot with pneumonia this year.  We will miss her terribly.  I suspect she is already planning a hoe-down in heaven with dad, after that fishing trip with Mr. Muto, and a picnic/concert with our brothers Kevin and Robert.      YOU CAN'T KEEP A GOOD WOMAN DOWN!!!!   April 2008 Update - Now working full time as Coordinator and Teacher of Immersion English at a private preschool (kids ages 1.5 to 6 in the mornings and 4 to 12 in the afternoons) in Koriyama City (about 30 minutes drive from Miharu).  Kevin is in 2nd grade Jr. High (8th Grade) and doing GREAT.   We are both enjoying life without international exchange responsibilities - still active in amateur theater club and Miharu Ensemble Foundation, but otherwise, taking it easy!   Mom teaches a little eikaiwa on the side for extra cashola, and Kevin is learning the electric guitar AND playing percussion!   Check out our YouTube site (search for tubeenzou) or SMUGMUG site (search for gna2000) for videos and pictures from the latest adventures of Jeana and Kevin is Japan.      Click on HISTORY button above to see prior updates.
